First steps in the process of closing KUE Main Library Foundation due to exhaustion of statutory objectives.

Mrs. Elżbieta Golec-Nycz becomes the Library Director.

Obtaining consent from the Polish Economic Society for the digitization of the yearbooks of the Ekonomista journal published up to 1939.
The refurbishment of the Main Reading Room is completed.
With the initiative of the UEK Main Library, the creation of the BazEkon Consortium.
BazEkon becomes part of the Virtual Library of Science.

The library has made available its own bibliometric programs: Citations in BazEkon.

The library adapts its facilities to cater for the needs of students with disabilities, the refurbishment of the Information Services Department, and the Catalogues Room makes it easier to use the library’s resources. The library website has been updated and adapted to WAI (Web Access Initiative) standards.
Works on the creation of indexes for the digitized sheaf catalogue are completed.
Late Night Study Areas were opened for the first time during the examination session.
Database Dorobek is included in the procedures for the periodical evaluation of the University faculty for the years 2006-2010. The database is updated with the functionality to generate reports on faculty publications and publications of the University’s organizational units.
The library’s own database BazEkon becomes available on the Internet free of charge. The records are also compiled by the librarians from The Warsaw School of Economics, The Wrocław University of Economics and Poznań University of Economics. If possible, bibliographic records are connected with full-text publications.

Creation of a new database Dorobek, which registers academic publications of KUE research workers and faculty.
The merger of the library’s two largest databases GOSPODARKA and NAUKI SPOŁECZNE into BazEkon and development of a new interface. Librarians from other economic schools are invited to cooperate in the creation of this database.
The majority of the library’s own databases receive a new interface.
Digitized card catalogues (the sheaf catalogue and card catalogue) are made publicly available on the Internet.

Mrs. Anna Osiewalska becomes the Library Director.

Textbooks Reading Room is closed, its collection is now available in the Main Reading Room, the free space is taken by the European Reading Room.
Archival issues of periodicals are moved from the Main Reading Room into the Current Periodicals Reading Room. The name is changed to the Periodicals Reading Room.
CentralSearch Tool created by the library becomes MultiSearch Tool.

Extension of scarce library premises by additional rooms and increase of library staff to seven employees.

Mr. Zbigniew Żabinski becomes the Library Director.
Initiation of the publications exchange, introduction of imported books purchases, and acquisition of about 2.000 volumes from the post-war collections.

First interlibrary loans.

Decree of 17.04.1946 underlying the new organizational structure for the library. Library management was given to Emil Adelman.

Reactivation of the library organization and activities on the basis of the University Professors Resolution of 07/17/1945, which entrusted library management in the hands of Mr. Zbigniew Żabinski. Appointment of the Library Commission. Reconstitution of inventories and catalogues. War losses are estimated at 1/3 of pre-war collection.

Probable date of Maria Epstein-Hreczkowa's death. Emil Adelman takes care of the book collection and remains the informal head of the library until 1945.

Occupation of University buildings. The collection was deposited in the Jagiellonian Library and in Cracow offices.

Approval of the library’s organizational structure under the statute was given to the school when it was granted the name of Trade Academy.

Establishment of the library together with the Higher College of Trade (HCT) in Cracow. This small academic reference library is managed by two librarians: Mrs. Maria Epstein-Herczkowa (Library Director) and Mr. Emil Adelman.
