Joining the library

Opening an account (applies only to CUE students and academics):

With account in USOS
  • to wyp@uek.krakow.pl please send your name and surname, album number
  • after creating an account, an e-mail will be sent with information about the possibility of ordering books
A student with a paper index
  • to wyp@uek.krakow.pl please send your name and surname, album number
  • after creating an account, an e-mail will be sent with information about the possibility of ordering books and with a temporary password that should be changed
  • upon the first collection of books, data will be verified
With account in USOS

We do not enrol users from outside the CUE until further notice.

Borrowing

1 Log in to your library account and search the library's materials.

2 Note the location of books (WYP, Magazyn) and book’s status:

  • 3 If a book's status is available you can order it using the online catalogue (you need to be logged in).
  • 3 If a book has the status Due DD-MM-YYYY you can request it and reserve the book (you need to be logged in).

How many books can you borrow?

  • 10CUE students, English Track students, CUE postgraduate students, disabled students*
  • 12Students of two courses of studies
* disabled students:
  • are entitled to priority service
  • borrow by proxy after assigning one person as their proxy for the minimum time of one academic year
  • 12CUE doctoral students, doctoral students not participating in CUE doctoral program but writing under the CUE professor guidance
  • 20CUE employee
  • 3Retired CUE employees

Books pick up

WHERE? Local Loans Department room 102, 1st floor

Monday - Saturday
  • 9am–5:30pm picking up the ordered books in storage locker (number sent to email) with code provided by librarian (album number)


WHEN? After receiving order confirmation email.

Books renewal*

RENEW ONLINE Library account must be active. 3rd renewal - books originally located in the Magazyn or all the books from WYP

RENEW AT THE LIBRARY 4th and any further renewals; books originally located in the Magazyn or all the books from WYP
RENEW ONLINE Library account must be active. 2nd renewal - only books originally located in the WYP, Without limits - books originally located in the Magazyn

RENEW AT THE LIBRARY 3rd and any further renewals; books originally located in the WYP

*You can only renew books that haven't been already requested and reserved by another library user.

Book returns

WHEN?
  • Information about due dates are displayed after logging in to the library account in the tab My Account
  • At the latest the book must be returned after 30 days after its pick up (students with a disability certificate - after 60 days)*
  • Returned books are quarantined for 3 days and can only be ordered after this date. In the catalog, they receive the status of Kwarantanna ["Quarantine"]

by sending books by post at their own expense to the address of the CUE Main Library (Rakowicka 27 St. 31-510 Krakow) with the annotation "Biblioteka Główna Wypożyczalnia".
*overdue book fine: 0,20 zł per day

Loss of a book

WHERE TO REPORT? Local Loans Department room 102, 1st floor

WHAT'S NEXT? Repurchase the book (same publishing year or next editions).

Access to periodicals

If there is no access to the electronic version in the databases available to employees and students of the CUE Databases, you can place an order for a scan of the article - Order a scan.

Closing the library account (Clearance slip)

Settlements are made by the dean's offices of individual units electronically via the USOS platform.

In order to obtain a settlement, the library account balance must be settled (no books borrowed and unpaid fines). The obligation to settle accounts with the Library also applies to CUE students who did not use Library.

In the case of students who are not registered in USOS (applies to postgraduate studies), a paper version will be issued.

Expired library account

  • to wyp@uek.krakow.pl please send your name and surname, album number
  • after checking in USOS whether the student status is marked as Active, the account is activated

Library fees and fines

WHEN? For overdue books - after the return of all overdue books.

WHERE?
  • Transfer to the university account: Uniwersytet Ekonomiczny w Krakowie, Alior Bank nr 09 2490 0005 0000 4530 8510 4422, title: opłata za nieterminowy zwrot książek, library card number.
WHAT'S NEXT? Sent the receipt by e-mail wyp@uek.krakow.pl or show the receipt at the Lending Counter in the Local Loans Department room 102, 1st floor.

Cancellation of the fees for overdue books

WHEN? Only in justified cases.

HOW?
  • Fill in this form
  • print and submit it at the Library Director office room 203, 2nd floor (next to the library exhibitions showroom)
